Chords and lyrics for I've built my first Cigar Box Ukulele...sweet! by Shelley Rickey

This is my cigar box ukulele that I built.

And I'm so proud.

I'm obnoxiously proud of it.

It's a bit of a glare.

You can see it's a...

Let's remove the rubber band.

It's a Romeo and

Juliet

cigar box.

And it's got a warning on it here.

the warnings about that smoking can damage your sperm which I thought was really appropriate on a

Romeo and Juliet cigar box.

I haven't glued it shut yet.

That's what it looks like on the inside.

I made the neck.

I'm so obnoxiously proud.

The fritz I made out of bamboo that I whittled down to size.

One of them is not exactly right, so

I'm going to have to remove this one.

It's got a buzz in it.

And the tinners are spools that they used to use in

Holland to make lace, and they're not ideal, but they sure are cute.

And for the little string guard.

It's part of a can of

Chinese tea.

And it's fastened

by the ingenious technology of

Velcro.

And the Velcro under here that protects the bottom of the box.

from the strings cutting into it.

And it serves to hold this little string.

Wait

a minute, wait for it, wait for it.

Of course you want to hear it, see if it's in tune.

Kindness?

I know you belong

To somebody new

For tonight you belong to me

Although we're apart

VERSE

You're part of my life

But tonight

you belong to me

CHORUS

Way down

by the stream.

Oh how sweet it would seem once

more just to be in the moonlight.

VERSE

My honey I know

by the door

You will be gone

CHORUS

But tonight you will all come

to me

But tonight you will all come

to me

OUTRO

Well, it plays a little bit.

It's got its own shortcomings, just like my voice, so it works together pretty well.

Not bad for the first try, I must say.

So that's my cigar box ukulele.
